Originally aired on 2016, starring Song jung ki ,Song hye ko,Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won, descendants of the sun bought a hallayu wave all over the globe with its humorous yet emotional plot, amazing set of characters and one of the best OST. Perfectly shot action scenes as well as the balanced combination of the role of a doctor and the role of a soldier, and how the duties contradict each other sometimes, DOTS is one of the best kdramas so far.
If you are new to kdrama, and expect a taste of some english , this drama should you no 1 priority in your list.
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING
Personally my fav, originally aired on 2016, starring Lee Jong suk and Bae Suzy as the main leads, WYWS for me has the best plot in the whole kdrama.
Consisting of sixteen chapters distributed over 32 episodes, this legal drama-fantasy television series pirouette around the lives on three young adults—a field reporter, a prosecutor, and a police officer—who have acquired the ability to foresee future events through their dreams. The three together do their best to prevent the nightmares , sometimes using the butterfly effect concept.
The drama despite supposed to be very serious, as the vibes from the first 2 episodes gives the whole drama a darker aura, but as the story progresses it turns more humerous and mysterious. This drama will keep you on you toes and deliver you an amazing romantic story.
GOBLIN
Also known as Goblin: The lonely and the great god , starring Gong Yoo in the title role with Kim Go-eun, Lee Dong-wook, Yoo In-na, and Yook Sung-jae, is considered one of the masterpiece when it comes to korean dramas.
Guardian's final episode recorded an 18.68% nationwide audience share, making it the third highest rated drama in Korean cable television history behind Sky Castle and Reply 1988.
Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) is a goblin and protector of souls. He is the landlord of the grim reaper (Lee Dong-wook), who is in charge of taking deceased souls. Wanting to end his immortal life, Shin has been looking for his human bride, the only person who can end his life. Meanwhile, Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) is a high school student who remains optimistic despite the tragedies and difficulties she has experienced in her life. She summons the goblin by chance, and through various encounters, ends up falling in love with him. Sunny (Yoo In-na) is a chicken restaurant owner, whose beauty is undeniable. These four characters' lives took a series of twists and turns when they intertwined. (Source wikipedia).
Personally I found goblin a little slow paced but the humor and emotion got to me. You cannot watch this drama and not fall in love with it. The sound track - stay with me, is considered to be the no 1 OST in korean dramas OST.
